The story behind ocula

It started in my family's mining business, where I worked as a laborer before I ever had a title or a strategy deck. From there I moved through manufacturing, legacy corporations, government contracts, and startups. Each one taught me something different about what makes organizations move, and what makes them stall.

What I kept seeing, across all of it, was the same pattern: organizations chasing the latest technology before they understood their own foundation. Transformation isn't a tool you add-on. It's an ecosystem you build — one that keeps learning and guides you while everything else is in motion. I hold that same standard for myself. Most recently that's meant going deep on AI and its business applications through Columbia Business School and Northwestern's Kellogg School — because I don't think you can guide others through change if you've stopped moving yourself. That's why I started Ocula.
